Updating Pirouette

Before updating Pirouette, you should stop the related services so there are no locks on the related files.

First, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and stop the service:

Now, open ‘Component Services’ and navigate to ‘COM+ Applications’.  Right click on ‘Roxy Components’ and select ‘Shut Down’:

Return to Step 1 of this guide and run the installer (the new one you just got for the update).  This will update all the Pirouette files to the latest version.

From the start screen, right-click ‘Command Prompt’ and select ‘Run as administrator’.  Type ‘pirouette register modules default’:

If changes to the database are made by the update, the registration process will automatically back up the database before applying the changes.

Go back to IIS Manager and start the service.  You should now be able to open Pirouette.
