Data Import

Organizations starting on Pirouette are often interested in hiring us to move data from a previous system into Pirouette.
Please note that our custom development services are in high demand - plan to contact us well in advance (at least 3-4 months) of when you would expect to go live with your imported data.
In order to begin work on an import, we require a backup of the database and a document outlining exactly how the data is to be moved into Pirouette.
A 'data mapping' spreadsheet with the following columns is the best way to communicate these import details to us:
- SQL table in your previous database
- SQL data field in your previous database to import
- Pirouette panel in which to place the data
- Pirouette field in which to place the data
- Additional Information
Include for all data fields you would like imported. If you're not familiar with the structure of your previous database, we suggest you contact the company you purchased the database from,
the contractor who developed it, or, failing that, a general database consultant who can analyze the database structure for you.
Once we receive your backup and data mapping document, we will provide you with a quote and a work order to sign and fax back to us, or we may return the document to you with comments and questions for further clarification.
